Stemology Cell Rescue Active Gel Toner Review

This is the first time I’ve seen a gel, rather than a liquid toner, and I’ve got to say… it’s brilliant! It is so easy and convenient to squeeze some gel out onto your fingers and rub it into your skin than grab a cotton pad, carefully pour out your liquid toner, and wipe your face. It saves you the need for all of those cotton pads. I can see how this product would be especially nice when you’re traveling. It’s far less likely to leak or spill and like I already mentioned, there’s no need to bring cotton pads along. I want more toners to be formulated into gels rather than liquids!

About the Product:

  • available online: stemologyskincare.com
  • $25 for 1.7 oz
  • ethically formulated, not tested on animals, and all natural ingredients
  • alcohol-free
  • pH balancing (this is the main purpose for even using toner, though lots of toner products on the market may not actually balance the pH of the skin)

Stemology Cell Rescue Active Gel Toner Review

My Thoughts & Experience:

The best and most important aspect of any skin care product is that it contains good ingredients… this one does! I’ll talk about the first five: 1) Aloe Vera: hydrating, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial. 2) Geranium Distillate: anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. 3) Centella Asiatica: antibacterial, anti-psoriatic, and wound-healing properties. 4) Equiselum Arvense: antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as well as a possible irritant. 5) Taraxccum officinale: a plant extract, and a possible irritant or allergen.

There were some new ingredients to me in the list, which was quite fun, because I had to look them up. If you’re ever wondering about ingredients in a product, I highly recommend this website: Paula’s Choice. I used it to check out some of the ingredients in this toner.

I really don’t have any serious negatives to talk about with this product. The price point is a little high for me, but that is all a matter of perspective. ;) There is a possibility that the ingredients equiselum arvense (which is a plant extract) and taraxccum officinale (dandelion extract) could be an irritant to those with very sensitive skin.

Overall, this is an excellent toner, quite possibly a new favorite for me. I have been using this for a while, and I haven’t had any issues with the listed ingredients that might be possible irritants, so I highly recommend this to just about anyone who doesn’t have very sensitive skin. If you don’t use toner, now is the time to start. ;)

I have a couple more products to review from Stemology, so keep coming back for more!

my rating 5.5
