Maybelline Lust For Blush Creamy Matte Lipstick Review

I appreciate the lack of outlandish claims that Maybelline made on this lip product. It does provide bold, pigmented color and the formula is wonderfully creamy. It doesn’t claim to be hydrating, which is a good thing, because it isn’t. It’s a matte lipstick, so it does tend to be a bit drying, but it isn’t as drying as, say, the Wetn’Wild Mega Last Lip Sticks (which I still love, for the record).

  • The formula can be slightly drying on the lips, which I find to be true with all matte lipsticks.

  • For a product that doesn’t claim to be, it’s decently long-wearing, as all matte lipsticks are.
  • The formula is very creamy and pigmented. It takes only one or two swipes to get full color.
  • There are lots of shades available in the creamy matte line.
  • The lipstick is inexpensive and is readily available for purchasing.

Maybelline Lust For Blush Creamy Matte Lipstick Review

(Please excuse the crazy brows in my lip swatch photo above… I’m aware that they need a little attention!)

This shade is a pretty medium pink with mauve undertones. It’s very wearable for every day, and adds a nice amount of color to the face without being too bold. It’s perfect for the day that you want a little added brightness, but not a “statement” lip color. I think you can wear it with just about any eye shadow look.

Overall, I would recommend this lipstick. In fact, I have my eye on a couple more shades that would be perfect for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

Which lipstick shades are your favorite to wear??

I ike this lipstick, too. I am on my second tube in 725 Liilac Flush. It’s similar to your shade, but lighter. I’m very fair, so I tend to go for lighter shade. I normally wear blue-based pinks, so it wasn’t a great stretch to go to a lilac shade.
I find its more creamy than the Wet and Wild mega last lipsticks, so not as drying. But I too, love those.
This one does have good staying power and doesn’t creep or feather into the fine lines around my lips.
If I feel I need a bit more moisture, I use a clear balm under or over and/or a clear or light pink lip gloss with it.
I recommend it to anyone. I’ve gotten some compliments on it and a few girls have asked me what is it, including the shade. Enough people have asked that I’ve memorized the shade name and number. That’s significant, I think.
I think it packs a great punch, color-wise, and I hope they never stop making it.
Another lippy that I love is Maybelline’s Superstay 14 hour in 005, perpetual peony. It’s what I’d call a tea rose shade, also a very wearable color. Long wearing, a bit more moisturizing than the aforementioned. But I don’t get compliments on it; its more neutral. I love it and am probably on my 6th tube.
Thanks for another fun and informative review. Have a beautiful week!

Hi Sherry! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! I am curious to try the Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick line from Maybelline… upon your recommendation, I’ll check it out when I’m on the hunt for a new lipstick shade. ;)
