Hard Candy Primer- Sheer Envy Skin Illuminating

The Deets-

  • available at Walmart and walmart.com
  • $8.00 for 1.3 oz
  • also comes in the original and skin perfecting versions

Here is what Hard Candy says about this product:

“A Light weight, illuminating, purple tinted, sheer primer that instantly provides a stunning, yet natural looking glow to all skin tones. Fills in pores and smoothes over imperfections for an overall airbrushed look!  Can be worn alone or under makeup.”

I have also used the original version of the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer, and to be completely honest, I cannot tell the difference between that and this one. The shimmer particles contained in it are so small that they are basically undetectable. The “purple tint” is also something that is totally undetectable.

This primer does do a great job of improving the texture of my skin, and really makes any foundation I apply glide on smoothly. It also is an amazing price for the amount of product that comes inside.

One tip that I want to give you would be to just use a small amount. It’s easy to apply too much product, and this really works better if you use just a bit. You’ll know what I’m saying if you apply too much. ; )

Unfortunately, it did not help my makeup last longer (no matter which foundation I paired with it). Because of that, and the fact that it wasn’t very illuminating on my skin, I will not be repurchasing this primer. If you want something that will really give you a glow, check out my review on the Hard Candy Glow All the Way Face and Body Luminizers.

 my rating- 1 star

Would I recommend this product? Perhaps. Just because this primer did not work for me, doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you. I’m just sharing my experience. If you are wanting a primer that has that silicone, soft feel, and makes your makeup go on smoother, then I think you should check this out. If anything, I’d recommend you check out the original version.

Have you tried any of the Hard Candy Primers? What do you think of them?
