Hard Candy CC Cream Review & Photos…
This CC cream actually has decent coverage, which is surprising since cc/bb creams tend to have the same light coverage as tinted moisturizer. I’d still label this as a light coverage foundation… build-able to a light-medium coverage.
A CC Cream is… a Color Correcting Cream. It is not only supposed to cover your face as a foundation would, but claims to have skin care benefits as well. Do I think this one by Hard Candy is anything special? Not really.
The “low down”-
* $8.00 for 1.5 fl oz/42.5 g
* available only at Walmart and Walmart.com
* comes in 4 shades: Fair, Light, Medium, and Dark (I have the lightest shade, Fair)
Here is what Hard Candy says about their product:
All-in-one CC Crème (correcting crème) balances your complexion resulting in a soft natural finish. Formulated with special light optic pearls that neutralize the undertones of your skin. The color correcting SPF formula leaves skin looking radiant and flawless.”
Some positives of this foundation are that it has decent coverage, it is a good price (you get a lot of product for your money), and it is easily accessible.
Unfortunately, as with any product, this cc cream also has some negatives…
- the shades tend to be slightly orange (at least my shade does)
- it does not fully set and feels “tacky”
- it won’t work if you have very light skin… because the shades run dark. I’m not sure there is an option for deep skin tones either.
The texture of this foundation is very liquid-y. I put it on the back of my hand to apply it, and if I tilt my hand, the product runs. Because of this, it’s hard to not squeeze too much product out of the bottle. This leaves your face with a luminous look. I think that because this looks so glowy on the skin, it would work best for those with dry skin.
This foundation does have pretty decent staying power. It’s lasts for several hours, most of the day, on my face. It’s incredibly long-wearing, but, then again, it doesn’t claim to be.
Something to note if you’re considering purchasing this product, is that the shades run dark. I have the lightest shade and it is too dark for me. Perhaps you could mix it with a lighter shade to make it match your skin tone better.
Would I repurchase this product/recommend it? Probably not. To be honest, I am not sure I’ll even finish all of this one. Good thing it wasn’t expensive. ;)
What do you think about cc creams? Worth the hype??
