Four Eye Shadow And Lipstick Pairings
I love creating my own makeup pairings, combining different formulas, textures, and colors really brings out the art in makeup application for me. This is where the fun begins. I’ve been playing and testing and swatching… these are my favorite color combinations that I’ve discovered for eyes and lips.
I’ve chosen single shadows to pair with some tried and true lip colors hopefully to inspire you to create some of your own pairings. If you do, please share them!
Now, with no further ado, the pairings:
Cinnamon and Amethyst– This beautiful purple shadow has a warmer undertone, so I thought it would compliment this trendy warm brown lip color. I’d say this is a great every day look for any season. If you’re more of a subtle makeup-wearer, then save this one for date night or a special occasion. :)
- Lips: Jordana Modern Matte Lipstick “Matte Frappuccino”
- Eyes: Sleek Eye Dust “Fantasy”

Mauve and Aquamarine– I chose this combination to add something unique to the bunch. The lip color is essentially a neutral, so it can be worn with just about any color. I just so happen to love all things teal, and, it turns out that these shades look pretty grand together. This teal shade is remarkable because it contains a golden shimmer, so I recommend pairing it with a pretty light gold or white gold highlight.
- Lips: elf Matte Lip Color “Tea Rose” (review here)
- Eyes: Milani Bella Eyes “Bella Teal” (review here)
Grape and Gold- I think this combo is really pretty, and the rose gold makes it feel lovely and feminine to me. I’ve mentioned this eye shadow in several blog posts now, because it truly is a favorite. If you’re not a fan of the purple lips for daytime wear, I’d recommend a more sheer lip gloss that will still give you that hint of purple or berry.
- Lips: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick “Vivid Violet”
- Eyes: Makeup Geek Pigment “Liquid Gold”
Scarlett and Copper– Red and gold are a classic color combination in makeup, so I thought I’d mix it up a bit and pair this red with a different metal. This bronze/copper eye shadow is super metallic and is gorgeous with the timeless red lip. Try pairing your red lipstick with any of the metals: gold, bronze, copper, rose gold, or silver. I went with a more sheer, warm toned red that is great for summer!
- Lips: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick “Rich Girl Red”
- Eyes: Makeup Geek Pigment “Vegas Lights” or Colourpop “Game Face”
