Favorite Taupe Makeup Products- my top ten
If you’ve seen any of my latest posts, you may have noticed that I’m on a bit of a taupe kick. There are so many beautiful variations of taupe- warmer, cooler, with gray, pink, or purple undertones… and I love them all.
Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Shadow: Topaz Twinkle
This liquid eye shadow and glitter duo is crazy pretty. I find it to be fairly long-wearing, though it does tend to flake off in the evening after a long day. This color is bright and metallic, and looks gorgeous with a deep berry, purple, or red lip.
NYC City Proof Eye Shadow: Tribeca Taupe
You can read my full review on this product here. This is great as a base for the next few eye shadows I am going to mention. It’s creamy and smooth and long-wearing. This taupe shade has a bit more gray in it than the others.
Milani Bella Eyes Eye Shadow: Bella Taupe
This eye shadow is pigmented and almost creamy… it’s a slightly warm taupe. This shadow has a satin, almost matte finish. I love to wear this one in the crease with just about any color of eye shadow. I really like these Milani Bella Eyes Eye Shadows, so don’t be surprised if you see a review with more colors in the near future!
WetnWild Eye Shadow Single: Nutty
This eye shadow is amazing and only 99 cents. Yeah. It’s super pigmented and creamy… it creates a beautiful metallic sheen on the lids, and is perfect for every day wear. I think everyone should have this eye shadow in their makeup bag!
Essence Smokey Eyes Set: Smokey Day
This little eye shadow trio was a pleasant surprise! Each shadow is nicely pigmented, smooth, and blendable. These shadows are very inexpensive, but are of high quality. I think I will write up a full review of this one, and possibly create a “one palette, multiple looks” post as well. What do you think, should I do it? :)
NYX HD Blush: Taupe
This blush is really like a cool bronzer. I wear it as a contour shade, right under my cheekbones. This shade is surprisingly flattering on my warm skin tone, so I think almost anyone with a lighter complexion can wear this. I have a full review on this product here.
ColourPop Lippie Stix: Tootsi
This taupe lipstick has a rosy undertone which gives it a slightly warmer look. I like to wear it with cool-toned eye shadows (like the Essence Smokey Eyes Set I am wearing in the photo below) and blush.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Nail Lacquer: Steel Grey, Butter London Nail Lacquer: Fash Pack & NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel: Hot Chocolate
My ultimate favorite of the three of these is the Rimmel polish. It has a very slight tint of purple in it, and I think it’s so pretty on the nails. The NYC polish is a deeper, almost chocolate taupe, and the Butter London polish is lighter and slightly warmer. I really enjoy all three of these on my finger and toe nails. :)
